Waiting for a Bite on the Philosopher's Path

I finally got around to having my Holga film processed - better late than never I suppose.

I shot this lovely picture in Kyoto in Japan on the The Philosopher's Path. The path is about one kilometer long, following a narrow tree lined canal stretching from Ginkakuji (The Silver Pavilion) and ends near Nanzenji Temple. The path gets its name from Nishida Kitaro, one of Japan's most famous philosophers, who was said to practice meditation while walking this route on his daily commute to Kyoto University.

Old or New?

I've been having fun with a great distressed texture from Flickr, this one's a scruffy old piece of board which looks just like a thick vintage postcard and I thought that it would work well with this temple photo which I took in Kyoto last year. I'm really pleased with the result and I'll have a go with some more as I think they'll make really interesting prints.

Back in dull old Manchester....

We arrived home from Japan on Friday. We had an awsome time! The food was divine, the shops wonderful and the gardens were out of this world, not to mention the temples.

An all round wonderful experience.

I've been working my way through my photos for the last few days and have added a few new prints to my shop which I think are rather lovely and I hope that other folk do as well!

Here's a few random images:

Away to The East

I'm off to Japan for two weeks tomorrow! Tokyo-Hakone-Kyoto-Tokyo.

It's all very exciting and I'll be taking plenty of pictures.

My little shop will have a somewhat more Eastern flavour in the near future...
